How do I make a booking?
Once you are ready to book the process is easy and straightforward
- Read the Terms & Conditions so you understand what you are signing up to
- Complete and submit the online Booking Form
- We will then contact you with details on how to pay your deposit. If payment is going to be on a credit card we will call you for the details. Or if you are paying online, we will send you the bank details
- A final payment reminder will be sent to you one month before the due date. If you wish to pay in installments this is fine too
Do I need a passport to book?
Ideally yes as we want to be sure that the names on your tour booking match your passport. If your passport is out of date or needs to be renewed prior to travel we can use your current passport’s details until your new passport has been issued.
Can I share a room with another solo traveller?
Yes. If there are other solo travellers booked on the tour and they are wanting to share a room, we will send you each other’s contact details so you can decide if you think the sharing arrangement will suit you both.
Do many people travel as solo passengers?
Yes, they do. Special interest tours tend to work well for friends who share the same interests as well as solo travellers. As all participants are like minded and the group size is small, it takes no time at all for everyone to strike up friendships.
Why are airport transfers not automatically included?
As people will be arriving off different flights during the day, it’s not practical to arrange one group transfer. If you would like to have a meet and greet service on arrival, and help with a private hotel transfer, we can quote this for you.
How fit do I need to be to join a tour?
A reasonable level of fitness is required as there will be lots of walking each day and being summer the temperatures will be warm. Most of the walking is easy paced and on the flat, but comfortable shoes are advised.
Will the group have an escort the entire time?
Yes. You will be accompanied by a tour guide from day one to the final farewell. All the daily logistics are well thought out and planned for to ensure you just need to relax and enjoy your tour.
Will my special diet requirements be catered for?
As much as we possibly can. Any pre booked restaurants will be advised ahead of time of any special dietary requests. Please be aware however that we are not able to 100% guarantee that all hotels and restaurants will be able to cater to your needs. If you have serious food allergies, we ask that you talk to your doctor before booking to be sure that you feel okay knowing that there may be some occasions where finding a suitable menu alternative may not be possible.
What is the luggage allowance on tour?
Due to capacity limits on trains and coaches it is essential that the following luggage allowances are strictly adhered to.
One main bag weighing no more than 23kg / 50 lbs
Measurements should not exceed 76 x 53 x 28 cm / 30 x 21 x 11 inches
Your day pack / cabin bag is able to be stored on the coach, but keeping it as compact as possible will ensure you are easily able to carry it with you during the day when need be.
